Looking for something to do this 4th of July weekend? Litchfield Park located in the southwest valley is throwing a Splash Bash. Activities include music, swimming and games for the whole family. Food and beverages are available for purchase. The Splash Bash is held at the Litchfield Park Pool (100 S. Old Litchfield Rd), on July 4 from 10 am to 5 pm. Entry fee is only $2.00 or your recreation pass. Then stick around for the fireworks display put on by the Wigwam Resort.

Goodyear, AZ (also in the southwest valley) is having a 4th of July celebration, at Goodyear Ballpark and Recreational Complex (1933 S. Ballpark Way, Goodyear). The celebration starts at 6 pm on July 4th. There will be food and beverage vendors selling hot dogs, burgers, kids meals, ice cream and lemonade. Rides and water activities are available for the kids. Luke air force base will have an F-16 courtesy fly over, before the fireworks get underway at 9:15 pm. If you don’t mind traveling a little further north; Surprise and Westgate are both holding 4th of July celebrations. Westgate; located in Glendale, AZ is having live music, food vendors, beer garden, classic car show and more – all before the fireworks at 9 pm. While you are at Westgate check out a variety of different restaurants, including Yardhouse, Margaritaville, McFadden’s, and many more.
Surprise’s celebration is happening at Surprise Recreation Campus (Kansas City practice fields, 15850 N. Bullard Ave). Gates will open at 4:30 pm on July 4th. There will be a minor league game between the Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Angels beginning at 5:30 p.m. Concessions are available ($1 peanuts and popcorn, $2 hot dogs, and soda). Fireworks begin around 8:30 pm. Admission is free with a canned food donation to benefit local food banks. Call 623-222-2000 or go online, for more information.
