Wednesday:

PALMDALE - AV Idol will take place at center court of the Antelope Valley Mall, 1233 West Rancho Vista Blvd., beginning at 6 pm. This week five contestants from each age group will compete in the semi-finals of the competition. Competition categories are ages 5-12, 13-19, 20-59 and 60 plus.

Thursday:

PALMDALE - Thursday Night on the Square will be held 5:30 to 9 pm at Poncitlan Square, 9thStreet East between Avenue Q-9 and Avenue Q-10, featuring live music, food vendors, free kids activities and an open air market. Free each week is storytelling by Barnes & Noble at 6:30 pm, Camp TNOTS at 7:30 pm hosted by High Desert Medical Group, and a live music game garden hosted by Valleywide Dental,

In true New Orleans fashion, outfit your dog in Mardi Gras style to join a jazzy march around the Square and compete for prizes. Kids can create a colorful bell bracelet, decorate a mask and create a Bourbon Street lantern. Enjoy the Stamp'n Station. Rhythmn and Blues by The Ambassadors of Soul.

Also at TNOTS is the kickoff  for Palmdale’s National Night Out. This special public safety event will feature a variety of crime prevention and safety-related activities including vehicles from the Sheriff and fire departmentd and CHP. Representatives from the Sheriff's department, fire department, CHP and the city's public safety department will be on hand to answer questions about public safety programs. Poncitlan Square is located at 38315 9th Street East, Palmdale.
 

LANCASTER – Farmers’ Market on The BLVD, 3-8 pm on Lancaster Boulevard between Ehrlich Avenue and Date Avenue. Queen Nation Tribute Band will perform on the Bex bandstand at 6:30 pm. Admission is free. For more information call the Lancaster Parks and Recreation department at (661) 723-6077.

Friday:

PALMDALE - Sundown at Dry Town will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at Dry Town Water Park, 3850-B East Avenue S, Palmdale. Admissionis free for season pass holders, kids ages 9 and older are $7, kids ages 3-8 years are $5. Sundown at DryTown tickets are available only at the DryTown ticket office the day of each event.Dry Town is open 11am to 6pm every day. Saturday:

PALMDALE – Starlight Concert Series - Sounds of the Supremes, 6 pm at the Palmdale Amphitheatre. Gates open at 6 pm, concert begins at 8 pm. All tickets are $5. Children age 12 and under are free. Free parking. 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd., Palmdale.

The Supremes' music personified the Motown Sound that influenced a generation as one of the most enduring contributions to American Pop music history. The Sounds of the Supremes, led by Kaaren Ragland, a former member of original Supreme Mary Wilson's '70s/'80s group, have achieved worldwide success.
