America’s Independence Day is just around the corner and I have already begun planning what fun events my friends and I can do. So, naturally I wanted to share with all of you the exciting entertainment that will be available in Jacksonville on the 4th. And of course this wouldn’t be a fashion blog if I didn’t include outfit ideas for each event, check them out in the slideshow.
For anyone who enjoys running and is looking for a race to join there will be an Independence 5K race at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation. The cost is $20 per adult and $10 per child until after June 21st when it becomes $25 per adult and $15 per child. I can’t pretend that I love to run but sometimes the clothes make me wish I did.
After you get your run on at the 5K head on over to Restaurant Orsay at 1pm for their 4th of July Backyard BBQ. I haven’t eaten at Orsay yet but who could turn down barbeque? I might have to stop by and try it out and I hope you will too.
If you have a child that loves the zoo (or if you’re just an animal lover) then you will love that the zoo is having a BOGO event. They will be offering a coupon on their website Jacksonvillezoo.org where you can get a free admission when you buy an admission. Sounds like a good deal to me!
And lastly the fireworks show! There are two shows here in Jacksonville that I will tell you about. One is at Jacksonville Beach and the other is at the Jacksonville Landing. I will say this; in my seven years here in Jacksonville I have been to both shows and let me tell you the traffic is miserable at both! So get there early and be prepared to sit and wait for a while. But, both shows are really great and totally worth going to see.
