Things are looking good for Las Vegas Sands stock prices

Today, Las Vegas Sands stock will attempt to do something that it has not yet done this year. If the company can have a good day on the market, the stock could rise to above $14 a share for the first time this year.

Sands stock continued to climb on Thursday, reaching a new high for 2009. The stock closed the day at $13.79, up 12.21% from the beginning of the trading day. It is a figure that already has exceeded any other this year.

"Casino stocks are now starting to rise again," said observer Walter Brenagan, "it has been a while since there has been so much investor enthusiasm over gaming stock, but it is starting to happen."

This entire week for Sands has been positive on the market. Since the close of the trading day last Friday, the stock has risen over $1 a share. Although those are not groundbreaking numbers, they are still better than they have been in months.

Casino companies have been among the hardest hit by the current economic conditions. The companies have been scrambling to come up with financing for new projects, but it has been slow to come with lenders tightening the reigns.

Las Vegas Sands has recently stated their intentions on finishing their Asian casino projects. The renewed interest has comforted some investors, leading to a revival of Sands stock in recent days.
