The internet is a buzz this morning about the World Cup handball video of Thierry Henry. Wednesday night France qualified for the World Cup, but many people are saying that officials missed a hand ball by Thierry Henry in a game against Ireland.

Depending on the view of the video, the ball does appear to hit Henry’s hand, but his hand doesn’t seem to attempt to move the ball, it just bounces into his hand. But of course, if his hand wasn't there the ball would've bounced behind the net.  Immediately after the hand ball, William Gallas scores a goal to tie the game against Ireland.

The referee didn’t call the hand ball, and France went on to win the game 2-1. FIFA officials have already eliminated the possibility that France and Ireland could play a re-match.

Scroll down for the video of the handball.

are you blind?, his hand moves to touch the ball and control it, the ball does NOT just bounce off his hand, henry and the french will have to live with that, I think the ref was blindsided and the goal and keeper were between the linesman and ball, so they didn't see it, but the world knows

I entirely disagree - his hand intentionally hits the ball and he cradles it back onto his foot. It is a disgrace that this goal is allowed to stand. I am not Irish nor do I support Ireland but they were most definitely robbed.
