The video follows Garrett as attempts to steal a precious jewel from one of The Baron's mansions. Use of the bow and stealth tactics return but the gameplay trailer also highlights the new "focus" mechanic which enhances Garrett's vision to show pipes that can be climbed and traps that can be disabled or tripped. It also slows down time allowing the thief to pick pockets more effectively and be more deadly during combat.
As mentioned before, Thief is a reboot but instead of going back to the game's origins, it brings Garrett back to "The City" years after an unexplained absence. He find his hometown stricken by a plague while The Baron and the upper class grow more comfortable and richer.
Thief is currently scheduled for a Feb. 25 release on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. The developer, Eidos Montreal, recently stated that the only major difference between the current-gen and next-gen versions will be the textures. Framerate will stay the same but there may be small control differences as well depending on the platform.
