'Thief 4' on PS4 looks the same as high-end PC (Photos)

"Thief 4" is currently under development, but those who have been working on the game have said the title will be looking no different on the PS4 than it does on top-end PCs.

According to a report from VideoGamer yesterday, "Thief" producer Stephane Roy spoke about how this game will be visually as stunning on next-generation consoles as it will on expensive PCs.

"For 'Thief,' everything started on PC. So for example, all the interface, the menu and stuff like that, we want to adapt it [for next-gen consoles].

"But for a visual aspect - especially for a game like 'Thief '- it's not a question of pushing more polygons, [or] now I can have 200 enemies at the same time and not just 100 enemies.

"So on our side, it's more a question of gameplay, the movement, stuff like that. I think with the next-gen, yeah visually speaking, with the high-end PC and next-gen it's going to be really, really close, honestly," Roy said.

This is an interesting developing strategy "Thief 4" has taken, and it's a wonder that perhaps more games took the PC-first approach, which is why consoles like PS4 are going more in that direction from an architecture standpoint.

Owning a PC is certainly becoming more and more attractive for those on the fence about it. With developers making games first suited for PCs, consoles like PS4 and others have to adjust to that architecture design.
