Silva, 31, was arrested on the evening of Feb. 6 after threatening people at gunpoint at the Pablo Popovitch Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Oakland Park, Florida.
Silva, who went 16-3 with two no contests in his MMA career, apparently ran into the school and frantically searched for Popovitch, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu trainer.
Silva was under the impression that Popovitch had been romantically involved with his wife, Thaysa Kamiji Silva.
The former UFC star has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon and one count of resisting an officer without violence.
He was also charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, stemming from a prior incident.
MMA Fighting reports that Silva drove to the school and honked until Thaysa came outside. He then apparently told her "You have ten seconds to bring Pablo outside and if he does not come out, I will go in the gym and start shooting everyone."
Popovitch came outside and spoke with Silva, but he ran back inside after a series of death threats.
Popovitch then called the police and Silva quickly drove back to his house.
Silva reportedly "did not comply with [officers'] commands so a taser was deployed for officer safety reasons."
The former UFC star was scheduled to fight Ovince St. Preux at UFC 171 on March 15 in Dallas, Texas, but that fight has been scrapped.
