Thespian's Stage is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today Jan. 16, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Gatecrash." Revealed in an article by Adam Lee on MagicTheGathering.com, Thespian's Stage is a versatile land that can play any role it needs to.
Thespian's Stage
Land (Rare)
Tap: Add 1 to your mana pool.
2, Tap: Thespian's Stage becomes a copy of target land and gains this ability.
Amid rumors of war, the third act of The Absolution of the Guildpact was quickly rewritten as a tragedy.
Thespian's Stage is like a fixed Vesuva. It won't enter the battlefield copying a land, however you'll be able to tap it for mana right away. Because Thespian's Stage can change what land it's copying, you'll always have the best land available in the game.
Have you ever been in a mirror match where your opponent might have drawn their Kessig Wolf Run or Vault of the Archangel first? From Grim Backwoods or Gavony Township to Cathedral of War, there's no lack of nonbasic lands floating around Standard for you to abuse with Thespian's Stage.
Another idea to abuse Thespian's Stage is to make additional copies of Cloudpost or Glimmerpost in Modern. It's also important to note that Thespian's Stage can be used to destroy legendary lands your opponent may be playing with such as Boseiju, Who Shelters All or Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
How will you use Thespian's Stage?
