As the panelists at the PAX Prime Theros world-building panel explained, although Theros was conceived as a top-down block, not every card was built flavor-first. Some had very resonant flavor crafted around them to fit a mechanical need. One of them was a common blue -3/-0 instant that also happened to scry. After a little thought, the perfect name made itself apparent:
Lost in a Labyrinth U
Target creature gets -3/-0 until end of turn. Scry 1. (Look at the top card of your library. You may put that card on the bottom of your library.)
Even those who leave the labyrinth never escape it, forever dreaming of their time trapped within.
Other than that awesome flavor and absolutely spot-on name, this card is perhaps most notable for its usefulness as a combat trick; it easily saves your skin from unblocked fatties or allows your own creatures in combat to attack or block another day when their toughness otherwise wouldn't protect them, while at the same time stacking your draw for the next turn, hopefully giving you access to another combat trick to mess with your opponents.
What do you think of this scrying power reducer? Let me know in the comments.
