CPAC opened with some great speakers yesterday discussing where the conservative movement is and where it should be. With Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Allen West and a host of others offering to the nation their best assessment of the situation which has put our country at risk due to the irresponsible nature of our representatives in Washington.
Marco Rubio emphasized once again raising taxes to stimulate and grow the economy does not work. It hasn't worked in the past and by spending another trillion dollars in increased taxes will not work again. During his speech he talked about the flawed thinking coming from the Democratic side of the equation. He stated after his speech is over they will make two observations, too much water and no new ideas to which he responded " “And there’s the fallacy of it. We don’t need a new idea, There is an idea. The idea is called America, and it still works,” A thundering round of applause filled the room as he went to take a sip of water from the bottle just off to his left.
Rand Paul responded to the group with the emphasis on a new republican party that adheres to the principles of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Mr. Paul talked about how we as a nation and individuals elected to office must work harder to make this nation better. He also took a jab at the RHINO's by stating "The GOP of old has grown stale and moss-covered," as he smiled and told the audience they didn't need to mention any names.
Allen West, a veteran who speaks the truth about his love for his nation and his love for his God walked to the stage as the crowd gave him a standing ovation. Mr. West opened by thanking Al Cardenas, chairmen of the American Conservative Union and all veterans as he put it "the defenders of our liberty and freedom."
"This movement and this fight is not determined by the punches that we take" as he described the outcome of the last election. Mr. West spoke with conviction that appeared to be infectious as he informed the audience members what America is and what it should be. As he spoke there were cheers and applause at the end of every sentence.
As the former congressmen described the liberal mindset he made this inference, "Folks I'm speaking from experience when I tell you that there is nothing on this green Earth that a liberal progressive fears more than a Black Conservative who wants a better life and a smaller govt" to which the audience went wild.
The faces of the Republican party have changed as of today. The mindset of the past will be iradicated and the new and bold will step up to the table with a more conservation approach to the deficit of our nation. Those elected to go to Washington to fulfill the will of the people will actually do just that.
The freshmen representatives look like they will not be rubbing elbows with the liberals behind closed doors forgetting about the Constitution and the values the Founding Fathers placed in the Bill of Rights so many years ago. We need fiscal responsibility and accountability from those elected to represent us. Today there is a voice of reason speaking on the behalf of our citizens who find this 17 trillion dollar deficit appalling
There's some new blood in the Republican party walking the Halls of Congress working to return this country back to the greatness of yesteryear. They are using the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to guide them to inform all who will listen to logic and reasoning.
