The sheriff in this case is in regards to the newly formed Taxpayer Action Board and their effect on the Palm Beach County budget and the taxes imposed by the Palm Beach County Commission.
The Palm Beach County Taxpayer Action Board (TAB) is a recently formed coalition of concerned citizens and organizations in and around Palm Beach County concerned over the county budget.
Fred Scheible was recently quoted as saying, "“Let’s shine some light on the way our money is being spent”. Mr. Scheible had many other people at the Palm Beach County Commission meeting this past Tuesday to express their displeasure with the way the Commission was forming the 2011 budget. They were so influential, in fact, they caused Commission Chairman Burt Aaronson to schedule another budget workshop on August 31st at 2PM.
This is in stark contrast to one week prior when the commission chamber was packed with people pleading not to cut their services.
So August 31st should be an interesting afternoon in downtown West Palm Beach with smaller government types clashing with big government types.
