There is light at the end of the tunnel

There is no shortage of doom and gloomers out there but there seems to be a historical pattern of them being wrong.

Most recently the Mayan’s were proven wrong and there were many who said the election wouldn’t happen because there would be a reason for Marshal Law and they too missed it. There seems to be a need in society for doom and gloomers and if any rational common sense mind looks at our current status as a nation they could easily be led to a doom and gloom conclusion. But the reality of the matter is that things are not so bad as to warrant the throwing in of the towel.

Granted we are burdened by an approaching 17 trillion dollar debt. And granted we have a gambit of social and political problems that need addressing but they can and will be overcome by the American can do ingenuity. This country came together from a vastly disorganized frenzy of different groups of explorers trekking across North America establishing colonies which our forefathers organized and brought together to fight the British and establish The United States of America. But before that it was an, “every man for himself,” mentality in a vastly greater scenario than our present greed driven selfishness. Our forefathers gave us the eternal gift of a blueprint to insure the survival of the Republic for which it stands.

The 13 original states of our beginning evolved via great pains and effort to the 50 great states that now represent The United States of America. We came from explores all the way to our newest state of Hawaii in 1959. But between those times we overcame multiple series of wars with the Indians, the Mexicans, and of course ourselves in 1861. But from the late 1400’s through 1776 and until 1959 we have been coming together based on the framework provided us by our forefathers. We have since 1959 slowly but surely have been back sliding into the selfishness and greed that took us hundreds of years to overcome.

Our strength is our diversity. We are a country of Indians, Europeans of all sorts, and descendents of slaves. Nowhere on Earth does such a diverse group make up the citizens of a country. We are not only diverse in places of origin but also greatly diverse in cultures and beliefs. But this coming together as one nation is the strength that we exclusively have that no other country does. But those who wish to dethrone us from our earned super power status use this very diversity to divide us. And divide us so they can conquer us, yes conquer, we are at war for our survival as a super power.

So for us to conquer that which threatens, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America,” we must come together as one. We must look past our petty selfishness of race, creed, or ethnic origin, because alone we are nobody, but together we are everybody. Working together as one is what got us to greatness via lots of blood, sweat, and tears. Blood, sweat. and tears are a necessary part of our difficult history and will remain in our future if we plan on having an future. So we don’t need to look at our financial woes and the tears of tragedies as doom and gloom, but as challenges to muster the resolve to over come and prevail as we have time and time again throughout our tumultuous past.

We as individuals need to focus our time and attention on the goal of restoring our greatness as a nation and not on all the doom and gloom distractions of individual events or tragedies that those that wish to destroy us, bombard us with. It’s the old spilled milk cliché of, “Don’t cry over spilled milk.” Once the milk is spilled we have the choices of crying or cleaning up the mess and moving forward. We need to drop our weak petty selves in exchange for a tough as nails American like the pioneers that did not allow any excuses for failure in their quest of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Does it make sense to focus on the tragic deaths of the few at the expense of 300 million? Yes we must briefly stop and mourn or right that which is wrong and then move on to the bigger and more critical issues that threaten our freedom and greatness. We have the major hurdles of survival as a super power which affects the home of 300 million of us. Let’s not squander what our ancestors left us, let’s make them proud by improving the gift we where given. The gift of being, “American.”
