Relationships can be hard to manage and oftentimes there are communication issues which need to be worked out between couples. Therapy is considered as a last resort for those who seek to keep their relationship in tact. According to an article by Your Tango, therapy can be a great tool that will aid couples in maintaining a healthy balance.
Therapy actually works when both parties are dedicated and working hard to repair their relationship. There are also a variety of techniques and methods that may work as well. Some couples leave notes for one another as a way to communicate. These note can be in the form of a reminder of how much you love one another or simple love quotes. It may also be a good idea to consider counseling at the beginning of a relationship.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Life Purpose Coach Teresa Maples says that couples should actually "seek counseling at the beginning of their relationship or before," as it's important to work out problems between each other "before developing ingrained patterns of behavior with another person."
The idea is that if issues are addressed in the beginning of a relationship it will prevent serious problems from developing. The key is not to ignore an issue in hopes that it will go away, instead confront it so there is a chance of getting rid of the problem.
