Theo Katzman rocks Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre 6/12

Last Wednesday night Theo Katzman not only acted as a drummer for Darren Criss on his Listen Up Tour, but also as the opening act. After seeing Katzman perform several times in New York's intimate Rockwood Music Hall, it was interesting to watch him work a bigger stage and a much larger crowd at Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre.

Fans had been lined up for hours before the show, but if they were impatient to get to the main act, that melted away as soon as Katzman hit the stage. The clear sense of musicianship he shares with his band and catchy songs kept the crowd enthralled. Their enthusiasm earned them a performance of a rare song from Katzman's catalogue, "Serena".

Judging from the screams from the audience, hopefully it won't be long until Katzman and his band return to Toronto.
