Week 7 of the GHSA 2013 regular season schedule saw the ranks of the undefeated teams in Gwinnett County go from four to three as Collins Hill knocked off Peachtree Ridge, Archer hammered Shiloh and North Gwinnett won easily over Duluth.
The matchup between Peachtree Ridge (5-1, 3-1) and Collins Hill (5-0, 3-0) was the Examiner Game of the Week and turned out to be a great game that saw the Eagles score 17 points in the fourth quarter on their way to a victory over the previously unbeaten Lions, 35-28.
Archer @ Shiloh
Archer (6-0, 4-0) went on the road and handed Shiloh (3-3, 1-3) a 45-16 thumping to move to 6-0 overall for the season.
South Gwinnett @ Berkmar
Berkmar (3-2, 1-2) fell behind South Gwinnett (2-4, 1-3) 14-0 in the first half, and never recovered as the Patriots were upset by the Comets, 20-7.
Brookwood @ Dacula
Brookwood (1-4, 1-2) visited Dacula (3-3, 3-1) hoping to string two wins together after downing Parkview last week, but lost to the Falcons by a 21-7 count. Dacula improves to 3-1 in region play and remains in the fight for the region title-for now.
Grayson @ Central Gwinnett
Grayson (3-3, 3-1) continued to rebound from their 0-2 start to the season by beating Central Gwinnett (2-3, 2-1) at the Castle, 27-19 in what developed into a ground game. The Rams now have a chance to put together a four-game winning streak with Berkmar and South Gwinnett the next two teams on the schedule.
North Gwinnett @ Duluth
North Gwinnett (5-0, 3-0) continued to light up the scoreboard by putting up 52 against Duluth (1-5, 1-3) while holding the Wildcats to 21. The Bulldogs continue to look like the best team in the region.
Meadowcreek @ Mill Creek
Meadowcreek (0-5, 0-3) continued to misfire in every aspect of the game in a 47-0 shutout loss at the hands of Mill Creek (4-2, 2-2). The Hawks were hungry to get back into the win column after tough losses to Peachtree Ridge and Norcross, and worked out some frustration in the lopsided victory.
Buford (5-0, 2-0) and Norcross (4-2, 3-1) both dominated non-county, region matchups. The Wolves traveled to West Hall (4-2, 2-1) and hammered the Spartans, 50-0, while the Blue Devils were at Habersham County (0-6, 0-4) and came away with a 49-3 victory.
Lanier (4-1, 1-1), Mountain View (1-4, 1-2) and Parkview (0-5, 0-3) do not play this week.
