Theatre Memphis asks for your help as 2014 approaches

Theatre Memphis is a vital part of the performing arts communities of the Memphis metropolitan area, and it needs contributions to operate and provide for the services it gives back to the area. So, during this time of the year it promotes a donation drive to collect these needed funds. In a press statement from Theatre Memphis, the drive is explained.

"Happy Year-End Giving

Your year-end gift is extremely important to Theatre Memphis because it provides the resources necessary to achieve our goal of "consistent artistic excellence."

Besides our successful 2013-14 season, we give thanks to our patron generosity and our committed outreach and education staff for touching the lives of thousands of young people through theatre arts and curriculum based mentoring/performance/instruction in all areas of Memphis and surrounding areas including:

Six hours per week at Caritas Village in Binghampton area throughout the school year teaching life lessons and curriculum through theatre arts, the Grizzlies Foundation Mentoring Program in Charter Schools and 12 week residencies in Poetry and Play writing in the Shelby County, Charter and Private Schools throughout our Mid-South area, with opportunity to perform their original works at Theatre Memphis. Most of these young people have never stepped foot into a theatre, much less performed on a legitimate stage.

Your contribution will have an immediate impact. A gift of $100, $500, $1000 or $5000 can make all the difference to ensure that Theatre Memphis will always remain as one of the treasured cultural assets of this city as we look forward to celebrating our 100th anniversary in six years.

Contact the box office at 901-682-8601, mail your contribution to Theatre Memphis, 630 Perkins Extd., Memphis TN 38117, or go to to donate. Thank you."
