A Hammer, A Bell and a Song to Sing
Jan. 10th – 29th Inspired by the work of Pete and his grandson, A Hammer, A Bell, and A Song to Sing celebrates the history of change in America through song, story, and spoken word. Sing along with the performers as you hear over 25 songs - from the American Revolution's Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier" to "We Shall Overcome" to "The Times They Are A Changin'"- that call for peace, justice, freedom and change from some of our country's most memorable songwriters. The Servant of Two Masters
Jan 6th – 15th Lamb’s Players Theatre in Coronado bring this comedy back for a limited run! Truffeldino, is a dedicated and wily servant who has a simple goal of just trying to get some dinner while keeping both his masters happy...both of whom are unaware that he is serving the other. Spring Awakening
Jan. 6-15. In late-nineteenth century Germany, a group of teens struggle to understand the meaning of sexuality in a repressed society where no one will help them understand what is going on with them or answer any of their questions. Hamlet
Jan 13th – 15th
Shakespeare’s classic play is brought to life by this company, directed by Tom Haine. Technically titled as The Tragical History of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, Hamlet follows its title character as he plots revenge on his Uncle who killed his father and then married his mother and ascended the throne as King. Emotions run the gamut in this play, which explores an obsession that is fueled by real and feigned madness, grief, rag, treachery, revenge, incest, and moral corruption. www.vanguardsd.org
