Theater tickets make great last minute gifts for holiday giving

For those in need of last minute gifts, consider getting theater tickets. They can be purchased directly at the theater, by telephone, or even online. You can print out a nice sheet of paper presenting the tickets, place it inside an envelope, and add a big bow onto the envelope for a nice, festive touch.

The New York/New Jersey area has a wide range of shows to pick from. Here are a few suggestions to get you thinking or going to the ones listed below!

The Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ is presenting "The Sound of Music" through Dec. 30th. The show has received good reviews and is drawing in nice crowds. Their next presentation will be the comedy "Lend Me a Tenor" from February 13 - March 10.

Running January 29 - February 24 at New Brunswick, NJ's George Street Playhouse will be the play "Good People."

Still showing no signs of closing are three Broadway favorites "The Lion King," "Chicago" and "The Phantom of the Opera." These shows are always in demand. Don't forget to check on this year's Tony Winner, "Once" which is a most unique theater experience.

There are a number of new shows opening in the next few months on Broadway including the London hit "Matilda," Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella," the musically driven "Motown" and the return of "Jekyll and Hyde" for fans of the steampunk genre.
