One of the original British invasion bands from the 60's returns. The Zombies will close out their US tour and the 77th annual Stern Grove Festival on Sunday, August 24th with another in that series of free, pastoral concerts.
After a few stateside hits like "She's Not There," "Tell Her No" and "Time of the Season," the Zombies broke up in the late '60. Now they've reunited to rise again, combining the decades of experience they've accumulated since then to tour the world and produce new albums.
To that end, like so many much younger bands, there's a crowd funding campaign for their next album. As of this writing, they're 65% of the way to their goal, promising exclusive previews and merchandise to those who contribute.
They will also be joined this Sunday by Vetiver, led by San Francisco songwriter Andy Cabic.
There are benches and grass to watch the concert from, but be sure to show up early if you want to stake out the best spots.
The Zombies and Vetiver play Sunday, Aug. 24 at 2 pm. The Stern Grove Festival is free and all ages.
