'The Young and the Restless': Womack may have shot Lily Ashby dead

Christel Kalil's character 'Lily Ashby' has been through the wringer on 'The Young and the Restless' through the years. But, is it possible that the writers are about to end this character's life?

All soap opera loyalists know that everything is possible. Hopefully that theory resurrects 'Lily's' mom 'Drucilla Winters', who was passionately portrayed by the gifted Victoria Rowell, and also keeps the magnetic Kalil around for a long time.

The likelihood that this top-rated CBS' steamer would remove yet another well-known face from its roster seems highly-unlikely. So, the gun 'Richard Womack' appeared to shoot at the end of today's cliffhanger may have hit 'Lily', or her husband 'Cane Ashby' (portrayed by the terrific Daniel Goddard). But, if 'Womack' was the shooter, he probably didn't take anyone out.

Of course, 'Colin Atkinson' (Tristan Rogers) is in secret possession of a gun as well. So, it's possible that he eliminated, or at least hit, 'Womack' in order to permanently silence his partner. That false act of bravery would seem to fit perfectly with his verbally telegraphed plan and might also allow him to reclaim the good graces of his family.

Just another day in Genoa City, which is saying a lot in consideration of all that has come to pass within the past few months, both on- and off-screen.
