'The Young and the Restless': Tristan Rogers' return sparks confrontation

Rogers has revived a delightful character.

Tristan Rogers recent return to the cast of 'The Young and the Restless' was welcomed by fellow scoundrels everywhere. His renewed portrayal of 'Colin Atkinson' revived a morally-challenged character who is always compelling.

Many Genoa City dignitaries were unexpectedly held hostage inside the ballroom at the GCAC because ex-con 'Richard Womack' botched a scheme to steal diamonds that were hidden within the Snow Queen at the 'Delia Project' benefit. 'Colin', who was masquerading as the caper's mastermind, used the situation to apparently maneuver his way back into the life of his son 'Cane Ashby' through falsely heroic actions.

While 'Lily Ashby' was screaming at 'Womack' for shooting her husband, 'Colin' concealed a weapon that one of his goons forcibly surrendered. Yes, the diamond heist was foiled, but renewed visits with the Ashby kids should soon be in order.

Meanwhile, 'Jill Atkinson' (who was handcuffed into marriage and is therefore rightly suspicious of 'Colin's' agenda) is now primed to see her dark husband in a new light.

Daytime anticipation is always alive whenever a soap opera re-signs a well-known alumni. Rogers' willingness to bring 'Colin' back from wherever he has been living will surely continue to project plenty of delicious confrontations through the screen of daytime's top-rated drama. And that's why good casting decisions are important.
