It has been almost a year since beloved “The Young and the Restless” actress Jeanne Cooper passed away. With the anniversary quickly approaching, the show is planning to memorialize her character Katherine Chancellor. Genoa City is going to be a busy place this August, especially for some characters who have been off the radar. According to a July 21 report from TV Guide, Tricia Cast and Michael Fairman will be headed back to “The Young and the Restless” to take part in the celebrations for Katherine Chancellor. Fans are excited to see the show keeping Chancellor alive in spirit.

Jeanne Cooper was a force to be reckoned with. She brought the character of Katherine Chancellor to life and fans immediately grasped on to her. During the time when she was sick, fans were following her progress daily. Updates would come from the family and when it was announced that Cooper had passed, it seemed like soap fans everywhere mourned her.

Fans of “The Young and the Restless” are excited to know that Murphy (Michael Fairman) and Nina (Tricia Cast) will be returning to the show. According to a tweet from a fan of the show, the fans expect nothing less from Katherine in reference to sending out letters to her family from beyond the grave. The entire story line is based on letters Murphy and Jill receive with instructions for Murphy to return to Genoa City and Jill to make plans. This story is going to tie up loose ends that have been looming for quite some time, including the music box issue.

The episodes featuring Michael Fairman and Tricia Cast are set to air August 26 and 27. The memorial is going to be set in Chancellor Park. Fans are excited to see how “The Young and the Restless” writers are going to write it out and bring it to life. What a way to honor the legacy of Jeanne Cooper as Katherine Chancellor!
