'The Young and the Restless' casting: Another switch on the way?

Is there another casting change ahead on “The Young & the Restless”? Fans aren't sure they're up for any further big changes after the recent exits of Michael Muhney and Billy Miller, but this one won't be nearly as painful. Soap Opera Digest shared the details on Feb. 7.

Cynthia Watros, who plays Kelly on “Y&R,” is one of the stars of the recently picked-up MTV show “Finding Carter.” Though a premiere date for the MTV show hasn't been revealed as yet, it seems likely Watros will exit “The Young & the Restless.” SOD notes that a casting call for a character dubbed as “Molly” has gone out, but the specifics seem to match the character of Kelly quite closely. The show isn't commenting on whether Watros is leaving.

While the show may be looking at recasting the role of Kelly, many online seem to think it'd be better to simply drop the character entirely. Though viewers love Cynthia Watros, many aren't enamored with her “Y&R” character. There are some theories that perhaps it was Kelly who truly killed Delia, rather than Adam, so there is perhaps an easy way to move forward with easing Kelly out of Genoa City.

If Cynthia Watros does indeed leave “The Young & the Restless,” who should “Y&R” bring on to take over the role of Kelly? Or should the show indeed send the character packing?
