The Young and The Restless” has been in the news for months. Several major exits have caused fans to be disappointed and outraged. Billy Miller, Michael Muhney, and Michelle Stafford were once the “it” crowd on the soap, but they have all left the show over the last 12 months. Stafford is cast on “General Hospital,” Miller is reportedly headed there, and rumors of Muhney's return to “The Young and The Restless” are gaining ground. According to a June 16 report from Soap Opera Digest, rumors of Cameron Mathison taking over Michael Muhney's former role are false.

The entire month of June has been filled with speculation of Michael Muhney's return as Adam Newman. Controversy surrounded his departure from “The Young and The Restless,” and it looks like the powers that be may finally be realizing letting him go was a mistake. Now that the rumor of Cameron Mathison being cast has been outright denied by Mathison himself, does this mean Muhney is really on his way back as Adam Newman?

Twitter has been buzzing about Michael Muhney and his possible return to “The Young and The Restless.” Several fans have been boycotting the show since his departure, but many have vowed to tune back in if he returns. Adam Newman's hands have been shown in several episodes of “The Young and The Restless” which has lead to speculation the role has not been recast yet.

There is still a small possibility that Cameron Mathison could show up in the role of Adam Newman. It wouldn't be the first time a soap star has lied about their role. Remember Michelle Stafford's denial of being cast as Nina Clay? For now everything about “The Young and The Restless” is still up in the air. If Michael Muhney returns, the ratings will go through the roof.
