Miranda plans to treat her body with the same love and attention that she gives her children through exercise, diet and portion control.

Atlantic City Yoga Examiner (YE): What is your health/fitness resolution for 2010?

Miranda (M): I have two children and I always try to make sure that they eat healthy.  I don't always take care of myself, so one of my goals for 2010 is to treat my body like I would my child. Not only does that include eating healthy but getting plenty of exercise. I would like to lose the last 10 pounds of pre-baby weight!

YE: What methods will you use?

M: I have had gym memberships in the past and utilize them very well in the beginning but if I miss a day or two then I just stop going, and honestly with two kids it would be easy to find reasons NOT to go. I am going to be working out in my own home. Comcast has great exercise programs On Demand so I will be using those. There is quite a variety so I plan to try all types and see what I like best i.e yoga, cardio, pilates. I also have a treadmill that I will use one or twice a week. I love to walk but it's a bit too cold out for me right now. I am not really planning on following a specific diet, just want to eat balanced meals and the biggest thing for me is PORTIONS!

YE:
How will you measure your progress?

M: My starting weight right now is about 135-137 lbs. I don't have a scale but I do have the Wii Fit Balance Board and that shows me my BMI and Weight. although it may not be 100% accurate. I also like to track my progress by how my clothes fit. That is a big indicator for me. :)

YE: Have you already started your fitness routine?

M:
Yes, although I am not very consistent with it at the moment. My goal is to get up each morning at 6 am and exercise for AT LEAST 30 minutes.

YE: Do you plan on involving your children?

M:
I don't plan in including my children for my workout in the early morning but I do try and take my 2 year old outside as often as I can (weather permitting), and we also do a lot of playing on the floor. I tickle him a lot as well as balance him on my feet while I am on the floor - trying to strengthen the abs!!
