The Yes Movement rolls towards 'Wrestlemania XXX'

The progression of Daniel Bryan over the last year of WWE television has brought many WWE fans a lot of highs and a lot of lows, but on the March 10 edition of “WWE Raw” the company double-downed on their hottest talent.

The so called Yes Movement took to the ring to surround Daniel Bryan. The WWE dubbed Bryan’s effort to commandeer Raw as the “Occupy Movement”. Bryan’s goading of Triple H finally got the best of the onscreen Chief Operating Officer. Triple H agreed to not only to a match against Daniel Bryan, but to Bryan’s new stipulation. Should Daniel Bryan win his contest with Triple H, he would also be added to the Randy Orton versus Batista WWE World title main event.

With Batista’s recent heel turn on “Friday Night Smackdown”, most fans knew a main event change was in the cards. But few thought the company would give them the match they have hoped for since last year’s “Summerslam”.

The WWE had taken a slow build with Bryan. But it became clear in the last several weeks that Bryan’s fans would not accept Batista as a main event contender to Orton’s title. After Batista’s turns at “Royal Rumble” and “Elimination Chamber” caused his villainous enemies to receive cheers, WWE finally decided to let “The Animal” move to his natural heel status. With a heel vs. heel title match on the “Wrestlemania XXX” card, a third player seemed to be a natural call. Wrestling fan Nick Piers sums it up even more succinctly: “It's the only way they can guarantee the fans won't crap all over Batista/Orton.”

With more eyes on the upcoming super card than ever before thanks to the WWE Network, WWE seems poised to give their hottest, most fan beloved star a huge Wrestlemania moment. But WWE storytelling still has several weeks to go before the April 6 event. Even with that winding road ahead, it seems clear the result of one match is already obvious: Daniel Bryan will beat Triple H and head to the main event of Wrestlemania. This has fans in the area and around the world buzzing about Daniel Bryan’s prospects at WWE’s biggest event of the year. Cedar Rapids area fan Joe Kratoska praised the move saying, “It shoe horns Bryan into the mix story line wise, wrapping up [and] feeding on his feud with the authority while at the same time giving the majority of fans what they want.”

“WWE Raw” can be seen locally in Eastern Iowa on the cable network USA at 7 pm every Monday night. “Wrestlemania XXX” airs April 6 on pay-per-view and the WWE Network.
