New Years day got off to a great start with a 21 gun salute in Cork Harbor, as well as a 'parade of lights in Dublin', which included many visitors that were in the country at the time. Events, through the rest of the year, will cover a broad spectrum from Irish art, music, dance, literature, sport, film and food, that will be featured in events and festivals all over the country.
