We wrote recently that Astro was already getting an opportunity shine following "The X Factor" this past season, and now he's getting just that courtesy of Cher Lloyd and her new music video for "Want U Back." Lloyd visiting the set of the hit show during the season, and we are presuming this is where the two parties actually ended up setting this collaboration up.
Ultimately, the placement of Astro into the song makes perfect sense from a business perspective -- it gives L.A. Reid the opportunity to market two of his acts at once. (He recently signed Lloyd -- a former contestant from the British version of the show -- to a record deal in America.) At the same time, this does continue a trend of having a random rap in the bridge of radio songs -- something that is not necessarily needed in every song that comes out (though Astro does at least bring plenty of charisma).
