"The X Factor" USA 2013 resumed Dec. 11 on FOX with the reality singing competition's semifinal round. All four acts earned praise for their respective performances, but according to data taken from the iTunes top 400 singles chart at 8:30 AM Pacific the day following the live show, two acts have a significant advantage entering the Dec. 12 elimination.

The boyfriend/girlfriend duo of Alex & Sierra followed up their chart-topping Dec. 4 rendition of A Great Big World's "Say Something" with another hit. This go-round, it was their stunning take on Sara Bareilles' "Gravity" that rose all the way to the second spot on the iTunes chart.

In addition to "Gravity" and "Say Something," which is ranked number nine, the duo have six other tracks in the top 400. The songs and their respective placements are as follows:

  • 14. "Little Talks"
  • 53. "Say My Name"
  • 70. "Best Song Ever"
  • 98. "I Knew You Were Trouble"
  • 138. "Addicted to Love"
  • 160. "I Heard it Through the Grapevine"

Also in good position is Jeff Gutt of Kelly Rowland's over 25s category. The single dad and long-time musician's unique take on "Hallelujah" is ranked fifth, while his other solo effort from the Dec. 11 show, "Demons," is in 43rd. Gutt also has several other tracks in the top 400, including:

  • 125. "Without You"
  • 168. "Bohemian Rhapsody"
  • 175. "Feeling Good"
  • 260. "Daniel"
  • 274. "I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight"

The other two acts haven't fared quite as well with iTunes users. Manufactured country boy band Restless Road ranks 65th with a cover of Hunter Hayes' "Wanted," which was by far their best effort of the Dec. 11 show. The boys have two other tracks in the top 400: "Wake Me Up" at number 148, and "That's My Kind of Night" in 170th. Finally, Carlito Olivero, the last of Paulina Rubio's boys, has just one song in the top 400. His version of Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" is ranked 315th.

Although the writing appears to be on the wall for Restless Road and Olivero, iTunes downloads tell only part of the tale. To find out which three acts advance to the Dec. 18 finals, watch "The X Factor" USA 2013 top four results show Dec. 12 on FOX.
