"The X Factor" aired part two the controversial "Four Chair Challenge" on Oct. 3, 2013. The top 40 was drastically cut down to a top 16 this week on "The X Factor." Last night Kelly Rowland picked her top four singers on part one of the "Four Chair Challenge." Tonight Demi Lovato made her final decisions on the top four girls.
The "four chair challenge" twist is very dramatic and sometimes considered cruel because the judges can replace a contestant with another one. The four spots per category are not final decisions until all 10 singers perform. As a result of this twist the contestants do a lot of begging for a chair. 13-year-old Rion Thompson from Jacksonville, Fla. stole the show tonight with her performance of "Won't Let Go." Primrose Martin displayed the most desperation to make it through but Demi wouldn't budge. In the end, Demi Lovato chose Danie Geimer, Ellona Santiago, Khaya Cohen and Rion Thompson to fill her four chairs.
The "Four Chair Challenge" will last for two weeks before "The X Factor" goes on a week-long hiatus. The top 16 contestants go on to the live episodes which are voted on by the public. Locally you can view "The X Factor" every Wednesday and Thursday on FOX channel WAWS 30 in Jacksonville.
