ITV (the U.K. network for "The X Factor" U.K.) has inked a deal to have the show's new episodes televised in several Asian countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia. According to report published by The Sun on July 25, 2014, this is the first TV deal of its kind for a British TV talent show. The 11th season of "The X Factor" U.K. begins airing in August 2014 date to be announced.

"The X Factor" already has local versions of the show in China, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan.

Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (also known as Cheryl Cole), Mel B and Louis Walsh are "The X Factor" U.K. judges in 2014.

Meanwhile, the unpopular flash voting (which allowed last-minute save voting for low-ranking contestants) that was introduced to the show in 2013 has been eliminated.

Hello magazine has published several unconfirmed rumors about what the show's season will have in 2014. Among the rumors are:

  • The flash voting will be replaced by Twitter voting that will be an addition to the regular phone voting.
  • There will be a fifth guest judge to mentor a wild card contestant during the live episodes.
  • There will be four acts in the finals instead of the usual three.
  • For the "judges' houses" part of the competition, Fernandez-Versini will take the contestants in her mentored group to the south of France, while Mel B will take her mentored group to Cancun, Mexico.

"The X Factor" U.K.'s ratings have been on a steady decline since 2011, the first year that Cowell was not part of the judging panel. BBC rival "Strictly Come Dancing" has surpassed "The X Factor" U.K. in the ratings. It remains to be seen if Cowell's return to the show in 2014 will boost the show's ratings enough for it to trounce "Strictly Come Dancing." Despite the ratings decline, "The X Factor" remains one of ITV's highest-rated entertainment programs, and the network has renewed the show for it to be on the air for the next few years.
