The first American season of ‘The X Factor’ was a great success. Just last week, the winner was crowned. Melanie Amaro, who happened to be mentored by Simon Cowell, won the singing competition. As the winner, Amaro was given a $5 Million recording deal and a national Pepsi commercial.
Former 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell is doing just fine with his current 'X Factor' project. While some thought Cowell's decision to leave 'Idol' was a mistake, the outspoken judge is at the top of his game right now.
In fact, Cowell is doing splendid. Along with ‘The X Factor,’ Cowell has his hands in ‘America’s Got Talent.’ And according to The Guardian (via Xfinity), Cowell partnered with Sony to form the production company ‘Syco.’ That deal reportedly made Cowell richer by $42 Million. So Cowell appears to be sitting pretty these days.
