The WWE Raw Wrap for Hour 3, 11/23/09

The three hour Raw concludes. We begin with the partner-less Chris Jericho confronting D-X. We still have Jesse Ventura’s qualifying matches of guys who never held a world title for a Battle Royal to see who next gets to face Undertaker and the Battle Royal itself!

Here's hour one and hour 2

Chris Jericho announces D-X vs. JeriShow at the Pay Per View in a TLC match.

With Show hurt this will be the title change. A shame Show got hurt before the WWE pulled the trigger on this being a feud.

Batista comes out bragging about injuring Rey Mysterio. He then challenges The Undertaker, but Kane doesn’t like it so he comes out and challenges Batista, but Batista walks away.

That’s one way to make fans stop cheering Batista and make Kane relevant in one segment.

The Legacy defeat Cryme Tyme.

And the Ted Dibiase turn is on.

Santino gets pelted with pies by Alicia Fox and Gail Kim for being sexist. He says the same to the Bellas and is hit with more pies. Eve Torres hits him with another pie and, finally, he nails Vickie in the face with a pie accidentally.

Vickie getting hit with a pie is one of the pops of the night. Maybe wrestling fans really are retarded.

Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura do commentary for the Battle Royal.

This alone might redeem the final hour of Raw.

Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes, Mark Henry, and MVP are the guys in the match. Sheamus gets rid of R-Truth first, then catching MVP at unawares to eliminate him. Mark Henry gets rid of both of Legacy solo, then Sheamus dumps Mark Henry. Sheamus, Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton are the last three left. Kofi Kingston eliminates Randy Orton with the Skin the Cat headscissors, then Sheamus dumps Kofi to win.

The absurd Sheamus overpush continues.

John Cena and Sheamus do a contract signing.

All this did was put Sheamus in the same breath as Triple H and Orton, but Cena at least mocks him for being a bully… though Sheamus gets serious Cena, while even D-X don’t.

Ventura thinks there’s a WWE conspiracy to keep Cena champion because he does as he’s told. Sheamus beats on Cena with Ventura egging him on and making it a tables match as Raw ends.

Oh joy, Sheamus is our next champion. Calling it now.

And this Raw was so promising to start.

Okay I thought this was easily the best RAW since the guest hosting gimmick started, and maybe the best overall since RAW XV. Jesse Ventura can hang out on RAW any time he wants as far as I’m concerned. I thought the new blood concept was great and Vince and Jesse were phenomenal on commentary. Ziggler and Swagger's de-pushes are both mystifying, but I have no problem with Sheamus' new found push. I don't believe for a second he will beat Cena at the PPV (see Umaga in 2006) but it is nice for some fresh blood. I’m still not completely sold that DX will beat JeriShow at the PPV because I still don’t think Shawn “wants to work Tuesdays,” but it should be a phenomenal match at could the first time probably ever on a major show that the Tag Titles main event over a the World Title. The Divas match was the most un-PC WWE has been in a while but the Gobbledy G--ker (Examiner won't let me print the real name) thing with Maryse under the mask was a great bit of fun.

I don't see Sheamus winning either, but I'm a bit confused looking back at Hunter's comments on the young guys. I could have sworn he said they need to work their way up the ladder. Or did I imagine that?
