The WWE Raw Wrap, 10/26/09

Big Show is out with a bragging Chris Jericho (for Team Smackdown winning at Bragging Rights), but Big Show reveals he did it for a title shot at The Undertaker.

While I guess this makes sense, I’m really not looking forward to Show vs. Taker, as it’s never been very good.

NASCAR’s Kyle Busch and Joey Lagano come out (with Kyle a heel and Joey a face) to make Big Show vs. Triple H tonight and Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston now.

The Raw Guest Hosts being face and heel is a good dynamic and should be used more.

Kofi Kingston defeats Chris Jericho with Trouble in Paradise (*** ½). After the match Randy Orton attacks Kofi for interrupting yesterday’s Iron Man Match to chase off Legacy.

Kingston being elevated works- he’s very over and has consistently good matches. He won’t be a top guy, I don’t think, but he could work with top guys in a pinch for awhile until fans demand he be left on top (like Jeff Hardy and RVD).

Randy Orton meets with Legacy backstage. They got him a car with his picture on it, which Orton loves, and Legacy also promises to get Cena for him.

I’d guess Ted Dibiase nearly beating Cena but being cost the title by Orton as a face turn.
Jack Swagger and Miz (the only Raw winner last night) ask to get the next shot as Cena, so our Guest Hosts announce that they’ll say who it is tonight.

Looks like a fresh opponent! I’m not the Miz, but that’s Awesome!

Santino and Melina defeat Chavo and Jillian Hall thanks to DX Hornswaggle’s interference. Hornswaggle gets a note handed to him that’s a cease and desist order from D-X.

Wow, this is pretty terrible.

Legacy comes out to challenge John Cena for one of them, both of them, or even a handicap match. Cena comes out to say they aren’t big enough to face him and it’s too close to Cena vs. Orton, which has gone on too long anyway. And Legacy hasn’t earned it. Cena talked to our NASCAR boys and makes Legacy vs. MVP and Mark Henry.

That was pretty terrible and went on years.

MVP and Mark Henry defeat Legacy.

MVP had Dibiase pinned for quite awhile before the ref noticed. That made Ted look terrible.
Randy Orton comes out to say he wants a rematch even though he shouldn’t get one. Kofi Kingston on the big screen says Orton should stop complaining and wrecks Orton’s new car with keys, a crowbar, and paint.

Maybe they are serious about Kofi’s push. This segment made him look like a star.

Evan Bourne defeats the Miz by countout. Mid-match Swagger came out to hit on Eve Torres, so when Miz went out to argue, Bourne hit a plancha to get the countout win.

Remember when Bourne was used well and in angles with Rey Mysterio? Me neither. Now he gets wins in service of other people’s feuds and it’s a shock even though it’s only a countout.

Sheamus, a new member or Raw, defeats Jaime Noble.

Apparently this is because Sheamus is Triple H’s new workout buddy. Remember kids, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.

Triple H vs. Big Show is made into a No DQ lumberjack match, with members of the Raw Roster (who want revenge on Show) as the lumberjacks and Johns Cena as special referee.

I guess we’re now making sure Raw as a show doesn’t lose any heat.

After a boring bit of Big Show dominating, Raw attacks Big Show and Triple H hits a Pedigree to win.

That made the crowd happy, even if it wasn’t great television.

The Guest Hosts announce a triple threat at Survivor Series with Shawn Michaels and Triple H challenging for Cena’s title.

I don’t get why they still aren’t running JeriShow vs. D-X, but this should lead to out Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania program.

Raw established Kofi as a rising star and set up several new storylines, so while besides the first match, no wrestling was great, this was still a fairly fun, fast-paced show.
