Do you think you have what it takes to be the Wu-Tang Clan's intern? Which begs the better question - just what does it take to be the Wu's right-hand man? That's a question you'll need to ask yourself, as the hip hop legends are indeed looking for someone to fill the rather unglamorous role of being their intern.
You won't find this position listing on their official website, instead the listing was uploaded to the NYC area Craigslist page under the "writing gigs" heading. Apparently, the group is seeking someone that's social media savvy and has a lot of availability. "The perfect candidate would be someone that is available for various events to document footage and pictures on all social media outlets i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc." This call for help could be the reason the ad was posted on Craigslist in the first place.
Furthermore, under "projects," the Wu are looking for help getting "Wu-World Radio: Wu-Tang Management's official radio station" off the ground and running, as well as "Wu-World.com - Wu-Tang's Social Media platform for artists, producers and music lovers." They also need help organizing the "Wu-Tang Clan 20th Year anniversary project," whatever that may entail.
There's also mention of Wu-Tang member Cappadonna's upcoming album Hook Off, advertised in the ad as the "first hip hop album with no hooks," but there's no indication what the intern's duties may be, if any.
Under compensation, the Wu say, "no pay." Sure, that's very deterring. One must assume there's also no potential college credits awarded, as well, but just think of the experiences you'll have. Plus, having "intern for the Wu-Tang Clan" on your resume can't hurt, either. You can see their ad on Craigslist here.
