It’s time to get the running shoes out and get trained and ready for the Wounded Warrior Project’s (WWP) 8K race in Colorado Springs on August 9, 2014. If you have not made your donation to a non-profit organization yet this year, and you like to run, this event will truly be rewarding.

The race will be held on August 9. 2014, in Colorado Springs at the America The Beautiful Park, 126 Cimino Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80901. For directions to the park click here.

7:00 am Day-of registration packet pick-up

7:30 am 1K Fun Run

7:50 am Opening Program

8:00 am 8K Run

10:30 am Closing Program and Awards

Registration Fees and Fundraising Requirement

May 7 – July 9, 2014 the race fee is $25

July 10 – August 9, 2014 the race fee is $35

1K Fun Run (12 and Under) is $15

Each Runner will get a running number, timing and will be able to partake in the festivities. An Under Armour run shirt is guaranteed to the first 750 Registrants.

Race packets can be picked up prior to the event on August 7, 2014 at the Runner’s Roost, 121 N. Tejon St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. For directions to the Runner’s Roost click here.


Each registered runner has a required $99 fundraising fee. This fee is to be paid within 30 days after the event. You can either raise the funds prior to the event and pay it with registration, you can pay it and raise the funds after the event, or you can have is deducted after the race, which will occur automatically, with the credit card on file with WWP which was used for the initial registration fees. In any case the $99 fee will be automatically deducted from your credit card after the 30 day post-race time limit has expired.

There is no fundraising requirement for the 1K Fun Run.

Fundraising Prizes

For those who take the event to another level will receive some special prizes by raising additional amounts and has the amount paid to WWP within the 30 day post-race time period, from WWP. These prizes include: A Wounded Warrior Project 10-Year Anniversary Key Fob for those who raise $500-$999, A Wounded Warrior Project 10-Year Anniversary Survival Bracelet for those who raise $1,000 or more.
