The World of Giant Insects exhibit in Macon

Macon’s Museum of Arts and Sciences has just opened The World of Giant Insects, which is open through October 10. As part of the exhibit, bug-themed programming is offered each Saturday morning at 11 am. On display are all sorts of insects, including a giant Chinese praying mantis, beetles, caterpillars and more. Additionally, over 70 animals are part of the museum’s permanent collection.

The Museum of Arts and Sciences is located at 4182 Forsyth Road in Macon. It is closed on Mondays, but open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sundays from 1 to 5 pm. On the last Friday of each month, the museum stays open until 8 pm. Admission is $8  for adults, $6 for seniors and active military, $5 for students and children ages 12 to 17, $4 for children ages two to 11, and free to museum members.
