In this day and time of “sun setting and sun rising,” I’m glad to be able to write about something many members and visitors of The Word Church’s Akron campus learned yesterday from Pastor Wayne Hoye, campus pastor of the Akron branch of the popular The Word Church.
And that big news is that The Word Church Akron is adding a Noon service on Sunday, which already has a popular 10 a.m. service in North High School on East Tallmadge Avenue, right off of Route 8.
The additional service time at Noon will begin on Sunday, October 10, 2010 – which will accommodate the growing demand for seats in the sanctuary.
On Sunday, September 26, 2010, so many people filled the auditorium that serves as the worship center, the overflow crowd had to sit in the overflow room.
“Those who are watching in the overflow, remember we’ve got two services coming so you won’t be there long,” said Pastor Hoye in the above video.
The Word Church Akron has experienced phenomenal success since it opened Sunday, August 22, 2010 – after all, not every church gets the favor of God and on the front of the Akron Beacon Journal – and it has plans to further respond to the needs of the surrounding community and beyond.
Already a beacon of light distributing food and shoes and school supplies at appointed times in the area, The Word Church Akron continues the model set by Pastor R.A. Vernon at the main campus in Warrensville Heights by offering free childcare during service times to make the church-going experience easier for those who choose to use the facilities.
The Word Church Akron also plans to stream Pastor Wayne Hoye live during both services in North High School’s “Little Theater” across the hall from the auditorium, to give folks who need more space – like those with small children and the like – an additional place to get the message, and soak up the Word of God.
