The 36th annual Woodlands Junior Clay Court Tennis Championships (JCCC) will be held June 20-22 at The Woodlands Country Club Tennis Center and nearby high school courts. The tournament, sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association and USTA Texas, includes boys and girls singles and doubles matches in the 12-18-year age brackets. Levels of play will be non-qualifieds, champs and super champs. New this year will also be the QuickStart 10 Division Orange and Green Ball brackets.

“The annual JCCC tournament has been a community tradition in The Woodlands for a long time. Plus viewing is free and open to the public,” said David McWilliams, 2014 president of the Woodlands Men’s Tennis Association (WMTA).

“The JCCC is very competitive, and to help out the WMTA provides very active court monitors,” he said.

“With just a few sanctioned junior clay-court tournaments in Texas, the talent we see every year is great -- I really love to watch the kids play.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities. In 2013 donations went to including Interfaith of The Woodlands, the Montgomery County Food Bank and Angel Reach.

For tournament sponsorship opportunities, contact WMTA president David Norton at 281-292-3875 or norton3@comcast.net.

Juniors interested in playing can sign up at TennisLink.USTA.com. The deadline is Sunday, June 10.
