The Witcher 3 will be using naval gameplay to travel and not fight

You may have seen ships in some of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's screenshots but that doesn't mean you should expect to be able to wage war using them. In an exclusive interview with Examiner, CD Projekt RED's Gameplay Designer Andrzej Kwiatkowski confirms that they will primarily be used for simple travel.

"We’re still working on that aspect of the game," he tells us. "So the only thing I can tell you at this point is that boats in the game will be primarily used to travel and not fighting."

This may be surprising to some fans considering how quickly The Witcher universe has been expanding. With the new-found power behind the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, more is possible now than ever.

If the studio decided to cut that aspect it probably didn't live up to Projekt RED's expectations. It hasn't earned its sterling reputation by shipping mediocre features.
