Hunting deadly monsters is one of the key themes of The Witcher franchise and CD Projekt RED will give players the ability to track down and dispatch a large number of fiends inside The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt when the game launches early 2015. As reported by Gameranx on May 5, lead quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz recently revealed that there will be dozens of fully unique legendary monsters to hunt within the third installment of the dark fantasy series.

Players can expect these legendary beasts to be tougher than the rest of the monsters that can be found within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Each one of these superior enemies will be completely unique from one another and the developer has taken inspiration from hundreds of mythological creatures to form what they are saying could make up dozens of in-game legendary hunts.

Not only will each of unique monster have its own model, but they will have their own lore that will tie them to The Witcher 3’s game world. Players won’t simply be given a quest to show them where each legendary beast is located so that they may be easily killed. Instead, CD Projekt RED wants fans to be immersed in the game’s lore. As such, the title will be filled with clues as to where each of the legendary monsters might be found. Players will have to investigate inside the game to find them all.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will launch in February of 2015 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. CD Projekt RED decided to make the game available only on the new generation of systems so that they could make the game as large and visually appealing as possible. If they opted to also release the game on Xbox 360 and PS4 then it sacrifices would have had to be made. The developer instead wanted to create the best experience they could as The Witcher 3 will be the final adventure of Geralt.
