Satoru Honma has made some comments in regards to the upcoming next-generation action role-playing game, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” According to a report by RPG Fan on Sept. 22, the international business development producer from Spike Chunsoft confirmed that his company will be responsible for publishing and distributing the multiplatform title in Japan.
Satoru Honma stated that they are honored to be working with the development studio behind “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” CD Projekt Red. He also admitted that the Japanese audience is often unaware of western-developed role-playing games in the past. However, he believed that the third main installment to “The Witcher” series will be able to redefine the overlooked genre in Japan. You can check out some screenshots of the open-world action role-playing game in the slideshow near the top of this article and Satoru Honma’s comments below (courtesy of RPG Fan):
We're honored to have the opportunity to work with CD Projekt RED on the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Japan. RPGs have always been a prominent part of the Japanese video game landscape. Although more and more quality western RPGs are now localized into Japanese, most gamers in Japan are still unaware of them. I strongly believe that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will redefine the western RPG for Japanese gamers.
Satoru Honma did not revealed when Spike Chunsoft will be launching “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” in Japan. The sequel is currently set to be released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in the North American region sometime next year. The Japanese version could come out later due to the localization process.
