‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ developer clarifies last game is series statement (Photos)

CD Projekt Red has clarified a statement suggesting that the upcoming “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will be the last game in the series. According to a report from Joystiq on Feb. 6, a representative disclosed that the third game in “The Witcher” will only wrap up the Geralt of Rivia story. As a result, they could return to the world in the future. You can check out some screens from “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” as well as some shots of “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings,” in the slideshow at the top of this article and the comments from the CD Projekt Red representative below (courtesy of Joystiq):

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will wrap up the saga of Geralt of Rivia, but we do leave open the possibility of returning to the Witcher world.

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will be released in 2014 for the PC and next-generation systems, which will presumably be the PS4 and Xbox 720. The open-world role-playing game is a sequel to “The Witcher” on the PC in addition to “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” on the PC and Xbox 360.
