Some details may have been leaked in regards to the next project from Guerrilla Games, the developer of the recently-released "Killzone: Shadow Fall." According to a report from Only SP on May 9, the new video game won't be related to the "Killzone" franchise. Instead, the studio is working on a completely new intellectual property.

A recent report from Dual Shockers suggested that the PS4 exclusive role-playing would be shown at Sony Computer Entertainment's E3 2014 media briefing. The new title from Guerrilla Games is expected to look impressive while pleasing hardcore players at the same time. The studio has mainly developed first-person shooters in the past.

An industry insider revealed that he has been told that the new intellectual property is comparable to "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." The third main "Witcher" game adds a new open-world setting, providing players a huge world to explore. You can check out a photo of the forthcoming sequel from the official Facebook page of the franchise with the screen embedded near the top of this article. The same gameplay feature may also be included in Guerrilla Games' next project.

Angie Smets, the executive producer at the first-party studio from Sony Computer Entertainment, recently stated that the new project has already been in development for two and a half years. John Gonzalez, the lead writer of "Fallout: New Vegas," (which is another open-world action role-playing game) also joined the team late last year. The aforesaid press conference will be taking place on June 9 and should feature other announcements.

"Killzone: Shadow Fall" was released at the same time as the PS4. The exclusive first-person shooter ended up selling two million copies in less than three months. With more than seven million units of the next-generation systems sold so far, approximately more than a quarter of the console owners also bought the first "Killzone" game for the PS4. Even with the success of their latest released title, the development team appears to be focusing more on the new franchise at the moment.
