'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' 35 minute gameplay video shows world of 'The Witcher'

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won’t be hitting store shelves unti February but the game’s developers were nice enough to release a 35 minute gameplay video on Tuesday that will give fans of this upcoming title a good long look into what they can expect.

The video, posted on YouTube not only shows us the fantastic graphics The Witcher 3 brings to the mix but also the massive world players will be able to explore when this title finally goes live. One of the CD Projeckt Red’s main developers leads us on this particular adventure and does so as if this were a real journey and it was being filmed by Mutual of Omaha’s Wildlife Kingdom’s crew.

That presentation actually lends itself some realism that goes right along with the graphics and the travels we get to see in the half hour long video. Along the way, we meet a couple of the key characters that will flesh out the game, including one the Witcher world’s biggest crime lords, as well as a voiceless creature known as a godling who is called “Johnny.”

The developer points out that in this game, there isn’t any part of the world that you can’t check out, if you can see a point on the castle or mountain range you can travel there and get a unique vantage point. This game has been a long time in the making and it appears Projekt Red has gotten the most out of that time.

The map for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is apparently quite large. At one point, while explaining how quick travel works (can quick travel to any location that has already been unlocked) the voice over explains it would take 15-20 minutes to get from one end of this map to another. It seems likely this is in-game and not 15 or 20 minutes of actual outside time, but if it is, that should give you plenty ideas of just how huge this world really is compared to other open world games.

The video also gives us a detailed look into the screen that is described as being the one where gamers will spend most of time. This is the inventory screen and it shows all the things users have collected along their journey as well as things that can be crafted to take out monsters like Werewolves and Drowners.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be out for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 on February 24 but until then check out the video to whet your appetite.
