'The Witcher 3' main quest length, combat mechanics, and more details revealed (Photos)

The next installment to “The Witcher” franchise, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” is currently scheduled to be released in 2014 for the Xbox 720, PS4, and PC platforms. According to a report from OXM today, a large selection of major details have been revealed about “The Witcher 3,” including the amount of main storyline content that will be provided.

Through this information, it has been revealed that the main storyline in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will supply a total of 50 hours of content. Speaking of the implementation of horses within this title, players will have the ability to buy horses, or tame wild ones using a spell. Geralt will now have the ability to jump and climb objects as well. You also have the option of hunting wild animals for things such as fur and claw by tracking down color-coded traces in the world.

Towns will now be more reactive, as citizens will respond to various actions that the character makes. Speaking of the new combat mechanics in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” this the system is comparable to the VATS system in “Fallout 3,” as it will let you target specific parts on your enemy.

The player will only gain experience by completing quests, as hunting will only earn money and crafting materials. The player will have a level of capacity of 60, and the economy within the game world will be affected by various actions taken by the player.
