Colorado's finest zombie death-folk band, The Widow's Bane, is making a music video. And they need your help.
The Widow's Bane have asked you (yes you) to join them in fundraising to make a music video for "Don't Be Afraid, It's Only Death," the title track on their new album, slated for release in June of this year. Here's how you can help.
Westword has called The Widow's Bane "macabre, literate and shamelessly theatrical." We just call them "Sirs" (or the bastard love child of Tom Waitts and an enraged, syphilitic tomcat). With an addictive roots music sound, frighteningly poetic lyrics, and a theatrical presence that makes them bar none one of the best acts in town, The Widow's Bane have become a force to be reckoned with on the Colorado music scene.

The Widow's Bane has made a name for themselves as the house band of the Denver Zombie Crawl, appearing at the annual event each year in their customary garb as 300-year-old zombies to play before a crowd of thousands and do the devil's work. This year their Denver Zombie Crawl concert doubled as a campaign stop for Governor Mortimer Leech, lead singer of The Widow's Bane, in his bid for the Presidential election. Governor Leech campaigned on a platform of extreme population decline.
The Widow's Bane is also a regular fixture at FoCoMX, the annual music festival in Fort Collins, Colorado. You can see them plying their trade and tearing up the stages in cities all around the Front Range when they're not writing songs about the evils of the fairer sex and causing mayhem. Their new album, "Don't Be Afraid, It's Only Death" marks their next big step in the music scene, one that will launch them into the fame, fortune, and fraternization they so richly deserve.
