Local music group The White Soots has been tearing up the Dayton music scene since April of 2009, by blending the sounds from 60's and 70's psychedelic rock with the blues to create a unique sound that does not let you down in the least. With the line up consisting Kyle Byrum (guitar and vocals) and Kraig Byrum (drums) along with Karl Benge (Bass), they create a vibe that is reminiscent of Stevie Ray Van and The White Stripes at one moment then feeling more like Bob Marley and Pink Floyd the next.
With the release of their first independent studio Self Titled album, which is available through either the band's MySpace page (www.myspace.com/thewhitesoots) or their main web page www.thewhitesoots.bandcamp.com, their sound has been beginning to spread. The album was even voted the 32nd best album in the Top 50 best albums of 2010 by Cybucca Sounds, a website dedicated to underground and unsigned music.
The band is presently playing shows around the Dayton area in numerous venues like The Southpark Tavern and Canal Street Tavern just to name a few. The show dates and times can be found on the band's website or through their MySpace and Facebook pages.
