The weekend ahead in Riverside County

Well, despite losing an hour this weekend, you should still have enough time to check out a few green events taking place locally.

First, the Mission Trail library in Wildomar will be hosting a “Recycle for Reading” event from 10 am - 2 pm. They will be accepting all sorts of electronics, such as TV’s, computers, etc. Just drive by and drop off those unwanted electronics. The event is free to you, but the company collecting the e-waste products, AllGreen, will be donating a portion of the recycling profits to the library, to help pay for needed materials. So, get a jump start on your spring cleaning, and help support the library at the same time. The Mission Trail Library can be found at 34303 Mission Trail, Wildomar, CA 92595.

Second, the Temecula Valley Strawberry Farm has scheduled its 2013 grand opening for this weekend. FYI, while you’re looking for the farm, you might notice that they’ve changed their name since last year. They are now known as Kenny’s Strawberry Farm. The same hydroponics growing system is being used again this year to grow the berries, but it seems that they’ve expanded the selection of items for sale in their general store. This event was scheduled for Friday the 8th - Sunday the 10th, but since it has been raining they may limit their hours, or choose to postpone until next weekend. Make sure that you call 888-236-0101, or check their website for details before heading out!
